I fell in love with this song when I lived for a short time in England in Wiltshire, I practicaly wore out the tape I bought there and I am so glad this song is on YT.
It also let me get to know this wonderful painter who painted every day life, in some way reminds me of my native, Polish folk painter Nikifor…and many paintings also remind me very much of the Polish mining district where i lived…Thank you for this video! Warm greetings from San Francisco.

i would like to thank bampy for putting a classic song on here i grew up listenin to this song as a kid back in lancashire,reminds me of my roots and to never forget home and im sure this gentleman who added this will be sadly missed but my hat goes off to him many thanx

Well do I remember this song. I was at secondary school in Chorley (Lancashire) and remember our music teacher buying the piano music because we all wanted to sing it in class. We all the right accents for it!

@burntrim lowry was a capable artist. these were ‘impressions’. only the uneducated cannot see it. if you were all like “oi lowry. paint us an apple” he would have and it would have looked real. he was a portrait artist and rent collector for most of his life and only did the impressions in the last 7 years. so why dont you accept that, get a few packs of monster much and settle down for a weekend o wanking.
@rightfredsdead I’ve never even visited Swindon. I’ll have you know I’ve sold my artwork in some of the finest public houses in the country! Best time to get them,when their drunk. Lowery was crap. This song however is good.
@burntrim he can paint better than your efforts at potato prints. and being from the north, he had class. he wasnt some ‘near’do well from swindon. like you….
