Hang on a minute…..Canon EOS 5D MkII. Bloody hell….you’ve traded up bigtime mate. Personally I’d never ditch Nikon, but that is possibly one Canon that would tempt me. How you finding it?

Lol Yea i’ve gone for one big upgrade i had bit of spare cash on me at the time and was looking at lenses, but then thought with me having so many random cameras such as a Nikon D90, Panasonic G1 and a Canon G9 i thought sod it sell em and upgrade to something i’ll try to just keep with.

I thought best to go for full frame as most of my photos are family or scenery that would benefit type stuff i take the most i went for the Canon 5D MkII as my lenses would be no use on a FF Nikon and from browsing the 5D MkII seemed best when used with the right glass imo.

Not slating Nikon btw i really liked the D90 and i’ve found it alot trickier to get used to the Canon im still not 100% sure on using it at times having to think what im selecting rather than just doing it, Now with christmas just over im bit out of pocket and i’ve moved too but im looking at 17-40 F4 L lens as a next purchase :-)

I do find it very big though to handle compared to having a D90 previously yet im no lightweight to carry it …just looks huge in comparison !

Let me know how you get on as time progresses. My dentist bought a 5d Mkll 6 months ago which he loves, but, he feels its not focussing a accurately as it should do. He’s an ex Canon 40D man, so he should know his stuff.

I’m still well happy with my D300. If I’m ever tempted to upgrade, it would need a big jump to something like a D3S to justify it :-) Now restricting my lens investments to FX only, so I have flexibility to go to full frame if I choose to.

Im far from a Canon expert but mine seems spot on with focusing i just double checked with you saying lol, If its still in warranty he’d be aswell getting it checked out imo :-) .

The D3S looks very good aswell but its double the price of a 5D MKII or id looked at that, but atm though im no expert and doubt i’ll be getting the best out of the 5D i still find it very good, yet still learning at buttons etc: on it.
