We had one very crazy mixed breed schnauzer who had to be put down, but every one of our other dogs were better by far, than about half the folks we knew. A beautiful blacklab, then a pound mutt, part coon hound, part beagle and mostly dumb. But the sweetest dog. He was cow colored and stood 5 hands high fully grown. He had enough coonhound in him to follow his nose, but not quite enough to look up occasionally. He followed his nose into trees, cars, walls. doors.
Then my daughter brought home the most adorable little bundle of fur I’d ever seen. Zach was our first Peke. We fell in love with Peke’s and have had six, 2 were rescued Pekes who didn’t last long. But they did finally find out that humans were not always hateful and mean and they knew love.
Then we got Goldie. She became mama’s baby. A week later, the breeder we adopted Goldie from, called to say to she had a problem child Peke, would we want her? Lucy/Snoepuffe is now my older daughter’s little girl. Her Zachary lived to be 15 years old and that’s old for a Peke. Thanks for posting a lab.
Sam grew up with Jen and taught her the best habits and allowed her to eat his kibble. Dog is God spelled backward. I believe that’s because a dog is what God sends as angels. Hugs, JJ

What a beauty, Nancy!!! Thanks for the information too and love the quote. My daughter AC had always wanted a Golden Retriever but I knew a small dog would best suit our life-style. She said when she has a family of her own she will get a Golden Retriever. . .for now it’s Mr. Toby. LOL! Anyhoo, hope you are doing well my friend.
